Field Day – June 25 & 26, 2011
Again this year we will be hosting the annual Field Day event at the
Marin Rod and Gun Club in San Rafael. If you are interested in joining the fun, please
stop by during the 24 hours of on air operations starting at 11:00 hours Saturday June
25th and running to 11:00 hours Sunday the 26th.
This is also a great opportunity to invite non-hams to learn and see what Amateur Radio is all about.
Here are some highlights of the event activities:
- WHEN: Set-up on Friday, June 24th. We start construction promptly at 11:00 AM PDT, but we will begin showing up around 9:30.
- WHERE: Marin Rod and Gun Club (directions and map below) Look for the Antennas. You can't miss us.
- Operating begins at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 25th and continues until 11:00 AM Sunday.
Join us and bring family and friends for a great day on the shore of the San Francisco Bay! Operate, learn and share your skills and experiences! Or bring a comfortable chair and just enjoy the breeze off the Bay.

Directions to the site: Look for the Antennas you cannot miss us.
From the East Bay
Take 580 across the Richmond/San Rafael Bridge
Take the first exit at the West end of the bridge
At the stop sign look to your right for the entrance to the Rod & Gun Club.
From 101 North
From 101 Northbound take the East Sir Frances Drake Blvd exit to 580 Richmond
San Rafael Bridge.
Follow East Sir Frances Drake Blvd to and enter 580 -- stay in the right lane and take the next exit just before the bridge “San Quentin Prison Main St. Exit”,
At the stop sign, turn left under the freeway, and then left again at the next stop.
Take the first right into the Rod & Gun Club.
From 101 South
From 101 Southbound take the 580 Richmond San Rafael Bridge exit (Be careful
the highway is under construction and traffic can stop suddenly).
Stay on 580 for approximately 3 miles taking the last Marin exit just before the bridge “San Quentin Prison, Main St. Exit”,
At the stop sign, turn left under the freeway, and then left again at the next stop.
Take the first right into the Rod & Gun Club.
